Todays Note

What can you REALLY control in this world? Close your eyes and imagine a hula-hoop around your feet on the floor. Can you see it? What color is it? They come in all colors, you know. Inside that hula-hoop is the ONLY thing you can control in this world. YOU. Not the abuser. Not other people in this world. Only YOU. Now you have to learn to stay in your own hula-hoop. Not as easy as it sounds. Abusers sure can’t do that, can they?
YOU are going to be better than that, aren’t you?

Todays Note

Why are they abusing me? Good question. Now comes the hard part – I want you forget about it. It doesn’t matter. Get out of their brain and back into your own. Haven’t you wasted enough of your life - in their brain - trying to figure out what is going on and how to fix it? Go back into your own brain and figure out what in the heck is going on that keeps you staying there? Why are you not spending all that time and energy figuring out how to get control of your own life back?

Todays Note

One of the worst things about abuse is the feeling of being alone and no one understanding. Not true. There are millions out there in the same place you are. They are just as alone. The hard part is figuring out how to connect and be safe doing it.

Todays Note

The old saying “knowledge is power” is very true. I can’t make you safe or give you back control of your life. No one can do that but you. I can share little bricks of information to make you more knowledgeable. You have to decide to take these bricks and build your own walls and make yourself safe. You always have to find your own path. I just know it helps to have someone cheering you on your way.

Todays Note

I know you often feel numb and out of control of your life. I will only give you a little bit at a time to read. I know when you are being abused, or recovering from it, your brain can only take in small amounts of data at a time. I know sometimes it takes a long time to digest even a little bit of information.
